At The Original Screen Company we know that you are looking for a quality product at a good price. We often have questions about our screens or room dividers and what makes us different from other internet sites - so we have answered some of the regular questions we are asked. What types of screens or room dividers do you sell?
We sell beautifully crafted three and four panel Oriental Screens and room dividers, three and four panel Shoji Screens and a large variety of Decorative Screens. All our folding screens and room dividers provide a unique design statement and have been hand-picked for top quality and great value. Our Japanese screen or Asian screen selections include Matsu screens, bamboo screens, wooden screens and shoji screens. All our screens are folding screens which allows easy placement and storage.
As an alternative we also offer three-panel and four-panel decorative screens, art screens and canvas screens. Some are double-sided screens which can be used as room screen dividers, and privacy screens. Others are single-sided with a black canvas background. They feature flower screens, bamboo screens, iconic images such as the New York screen and patterned screens. Some are very modern screens whilst other are more traditional room dividers.
How are your screen or room dividers different from the others available on the internet?
You only have to look closely at our screens to see the quality and craftsmanship involved, for instance our Shoji screen cross-panels are all interlocked in the traditional Japanese manner, not just stuck on-top of each other like cheaper screens. The Shoji and Oriental frames are properly jointed and finished to a high quality by skilled craftsman in a small family company.
Our Oriental room dividers and Shoji Screens also have brass two-way hinges which add to their high quality effect, and allow the panels to be moved in either direction. The majority of these screens also consist of four panels which ensure you have the maximum flexibility of use, whilst easily folding for storage.
In addition, our prices are highly competitive - the price you see is the price you pay as VAT and standard weekday delivery costs are included (see Delivery section for more details). No nasty shocks at the checkout!
How can I use a screen or room divider?
We have included a unique section on our site, suggesting some of the possible interior design tips and ideas for using our screens. There are photographs of our decorative room dividers, oriental screens and shoji screens in use. Our screens complement all types of Asian furniture or Japanese furniture but also stand alone as design features.
Our folding partitions can be used in so many situations: as office screens, restaurant screens, privacy screens, salon screens, therapy screens or dressing screens. They can be used in a variety of rooms in your home: to create a study area, as dividers for large rooms or a room screen to partition off an area. Are our screens and room dividers guaranteed?
Yes. All our room dividers and screens carry a 12 month guarantee against faulty workmanship or defective materials. We also guarantee the products in transit to cover any damages that may occur. How quickly can my screen be delivered?
We hold the Oriental Screens or room dividers and Shoji Screens in stock and if you require these quickly we may be able to arrange next day delivery. Please ring for further details. Decorative Screens will usually be available in three working days from the order. We will always ring you to arrange a suitable delivery time, as your signature will be required to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
Do you have a showroom where I can see the screens and room dividers?
Unfortunately we do not currently have a showroom in Nottingham as we are solely an internet company. As time progresses we hope to be able to offer this service.
